Medical Informatics - An Important Field You've Probably Never Heard Of

Clinicians, including physical therapists, struggle to manage the vast amount of health information they encounter on a daily basis. The rising tide of information stems from a combination of expanding knowledge sources and improved communication methods, most notably, the Internet. At the same time, the demands for and uses of health information are expanding. While healthcare providers are experiencing growing information requirements from administrative and regulatory pressures, they are also serving more empowered consumers who are beginning to demand the same conveniences they have become accustomed to with other industries.
